This is for the occasion of the Film Festival of Télérama magazine that I had the opportunity to go to the cinema and see films that we had not had the opportunity to see during the year. The other night we saw the film "MUSTANG" the first film by Deniz Gamze Ergüven which tells the story of five young sisters who live in a Turkish village and refuse religious dictates and arranged marriages. I loved this film. The play of the actors is remarkable. The director of the movie describes and denounces the barbaric traditions that unfortunately still exist today in some small villages in Turkey clearly and with much of poetry. Five sisters live with their grandmother and an uncle who just wants to keep them like prisonners without any desire of life, enthusiasm, passion, subject to the will of men who are married at a young age. In this film there are wonderful scenes of the landscape of the Turkish countryside while we admire the courage of the younger sister who did everything to rebel and try running away to save the other sisters who are ready to marry a man they didn't choose . Istanbul is the largest city but it also represent freedom. Rejoining Istanbul means find the only person who can finally save them and help them to find long sought freedom, their teacher. The past two sisters manage to save by taking a bus that allows them to go to Istanbul and finally find out their teacher. Turkish Mustang is a horse race and symbolizes freedom. This wonderful film that has had since the Cannes Film Festival a huge success, will represent France at the upcoming Academy Awards.
